Top Favorite Books from 2024 Reviews;

Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls by Lauren Graham | 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This book was fun! I loved hearing it as an audiobook because listening to it read by the author was make or break. To be honest, I loved the Gillmore Girls (and still watch it almost nightly) so it was so much fun hearing an inside perspective of how Lauren felt growing up playing a main character. I loved hearing about how on set was like a family and how sometimes things get hard but thankfully they consistently were always there for each other. I wish she would have broken down more of the actual characters feelings about things going on behind the scenes to give us more perspective on the dynamics but overall, it was a fun little read/listen!

Comfort & Joy by Kristin Hannah | 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Obsessed with this book! I wanted to read it around Christmas because everyone said it would be a fun read but it was on my waitlist at the library so once I finally got it in January I was excited to get going. I tell you, I couldn’t put it down! Honestly so inspiring and heartwarming to read as well as incredible and just fills your heart with warmth. The story involves someone who really needed a change and once the plane crash happened everything was tipped upside down. To hear the little boy be so excited and give her life made the whole story feel like a warm fuzzy at the end. Truly, worth the read any time of the year! And as always, Kristin Hannah doesn’t disappoint. I’m sure I’ll read a handful more of her books before the end of the year!

The Only Woman in the Room by Marie Benedict | 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Bought this at a Goodwill because it appeared to be something up my historical fiction alley. It didn’t disappoint!! Hedy has Jewish heritage and marries someone to help avoid the inevitable. She wants to get away from her abusive marriage so escapes and eventually makes it to America and then Hollywood. From there she becomes a star and builds a new life. She quickly turns into a scientist and helps with the war efforts. It was so good and the main character was so inspiring! She had a resilient heart and showed how strong she was despite so many things going on. WW2 books are becoming my favorites lately.

The Women by Kristin Hannah | 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ya’ll knew I couldn’t NOT have another five star for the newest Kristin Hannah book! This one was such an incredible story about the women of Vietnam. I will be the first to admit I know very little about the Vietnam War efforts and to hear it all from a woman’s perspective was full of emotional turns. Frankie was a woman within a long line of military family members and after her brother died she decided to be brave and sign up for the war efforts. Landing herself in the front line hospital in Vietnam she quickly was terrified of life watching people die daily. But she was so brave and did so much. After two tours and coming home being told she wasn’t a vet and people being upset with the war she really suffered deeply. Twisting her love story through all of this adds another layer of depth to the book that makes you just wish good things for her. Truly, watching the story unfold of life during and after the war for so many veterans gives me a new look and appreciation for those who served our country and suffered with physical and mental health for the rest of their lives.

I think you'll also love reading...
