StoryWorth is a year of documenting your family members stories to keep with your family forever. This flat fee subscription is the perfect gift for your parents or grandparents for the holidays. And we’ve got a referral code of $10 off your subscription!
I’ve always been someone who likes to give meaningful gifts. And each holiday season I struggle finding something that my parents or in-laws would love. So when I was scrolling social media and saw a few influencers were gifting StoryWorth I did the swipe up thing and found a company I could totally get behind!
StoryWorth collects family stories, preserving them in beautiful keepsake books for generations to come. The basics of their services is that it sends a new question to the family member weekly. They simply reply to the question email and can attach images. From there you can log into the website and see what they’ve responded as well as adjust upcoming questions.
You have ample options once it’s ready to be printed. There’s an option to add additional copies of your book to be printed for other family members. Plus you can print it in color! This would be a fantastic option for those who include a lot of images in their books. And if you’re not quite ready to have them printed, that’s ok too. Just roll your subscription over for the next year and keep having them add to their book! The books can be up to almost 400 pages long so that is ample room to continue to add to your book if needed.
I just sent these out this year so I’ll update at the end of the year when our books get printed. At this time, my review is all good things. The interface of using their service is super simple to toggle through if you have more than one person subscribed. I have four subscriptions set up, one for each parent. It’s super simple to see what upcoming questions they have and what I did was choose each of them to get the same questions to keep the books in the same order.
The best part is that sometimes it’s not realistic or practical to log in and answer a question each week. We all get busy so I love that you can log in and play catch-up with the questions or edit your responses. Then you’ve got time to log in and look at your questions and think through some of them. Save it up for a rainy day to sit down and respond to a handful as well as dig up old pictures to add to those questions! The questions don’t expire and you can resume and edit them as needed.
I miss my own grandparents that have passed away and love that my Grandma Dorothy was a “documenter” who was always leaving notes and information about our family history. But there’s very little of her own personal stories. This gift is fantastic for getting to know about your family members actual persona lives with questions like “What was your childhood pets name.” It’s questions that might not come up in other conversations at holidays or when you’re spending time together.
Here’s a list of some of the questions that are asked within StoryWorth. I think one of my favorite parts is that you can also create your own questions to send them as well! But they also have several hundred questions you can choose from including;
I think as adults we find a new perspective to think about our parents. Asking intentional questions about their lives truly can inspire you to rethink how inspirational they are as well as give you some fun memories you would never know about them! I know for me, after reading their responses that they’ve done so far it sparks a new topic conversation for us to elaborate on more! Plus it’s fun learning new things about them!
If you’re in a rut on getting gifts for your parents or family members consider StoryWorth! It’s totally worth it in my opinion! If I was going to spend over $100 on a gift anyways, it may as well be one that can give me some topics to learn more about my family members!
